Grammys to honor Steve Jobs

Apple co-founder Steve Jobs is receiving a posthumous Grammy for his technological innovations in the arts.

Jobs is among a dozen people, music groups or companies receiving honorary awards Feb. 11, the day before the Grammys. He died of cancer in October.

The Grammys are honoring Jobs with one of the group?s Trustees Awards, citing the late Apple boss? advancements that ?transformed the way we consume music, TV, movies, and books.?

Colbert offers cash

Comedian Stephen Colbert says he will pay half a million dollars to help fund South Carolina?s first-in-the-South GOP presidential primary.

The Palmetto State native wrote in an op-ed Thursday in the State newspaper in Columbia that his super PAC will bridge the gap after state Republicans refused to contribute anything above candidates? filing fees.

This month, Colbert offered Republicans $400,000 if they?d name the contest after him. The party said no, and Colbert says he started working with state Democrats to get an advisory referendum on the ballot.

The primary is expected to cost $1.5 million.

De Niro dad again

Robert De Niro is a father again.

Stan Rosenfield, the 68-year-old actor?s spokesman, says De Niro and his 56-year-old wife, Grace Hightower, welcomed a healthy 7-pound, 2-ounce baby girl named Helen Grace Hightower through a surrogate mother.

She is the couple?s second child.

Gibson divorced

Mel Gibson has finalized his divorce from his wife of 28 years.

Attorneys for the Oscar winner and his ex-wife appeared briefly in a Los Angeles courthouse Friday to submit a proposed judgment, which a judge signed hours later.

Robyn Gibson filed for divorce in April 2009, just months before Gibson?s then-girlfriend gave birth to a daughter.
